Meet Henry and June

These are the newest members of our family.

They are Black Muscovy ducklings, and are just a few days old.
We are so thrilled with their little peeping cutenesses!

They are actually quite unique ducks.

They are the only ducks that don't come from the Mallard family, are are South American in origin. They are quackless. They will make soft sounds and trills, but will not quack. When Henry grows up he will be large, probably 12 or more pounds, and have funny looking (gross and scary looking?) red wart like things called caruncles.

June will be smaller, less warty, and somewhat prettier, like her mother.
I thought about only having her, but I thought she would probably appreciate having a guy around. I'm sure she will find him to be quite handsome through her own ducky outlook. And of course, no matter how quirky they turn out, we love them already!

Yay!!!!! Very cute. I want to meet them in person. So sweet how little Galen is also enjoying them. I like their names, too. <3
